Hello Peace Makers,

We’re excited to bring you another edition of the "Build A Better Orphanage Newsletter"!

Our team is back from Uganda and settling in, and we have so many stories to share about the trip.

While we spent a lot of time playing and having fun with the children, we also focused on sharing valuable knowledge and wisdom. One of the sessions we hosted was a presentation about traveling, led by our team leader, Chantalle.

Chantalle taught the kids a bit of geography, and they were amazed at how far we traveled to be with them—7,671 miles, to be exact! Seeing themselves within the broader context of the world left a lasting impression.

At the end of the presentation, Chantalle left them with a world map, encouraging them to keep a vision of the globe in front of them at all times. The message was subtle but powerful: to dream beyond their immediate surroundings and to understand their place in the larger world.

We’re more than just our local community, and we owe it to our faith and one another to bring more light into the world.

Current Projects:

Uganda is currently in one of its most rainy seasons (September-December). With that comes urgent renovations to the roof.

The building roof has a massive hole, and when it rains, water floods into the building. The kids’ bedding and rooms are being drenched, and a few have caught malaria due to these unsafe conditions.

As you can imagine, our primary focus is raising enough money to secure the roof ASAP.

Campaign Goal:

Our target goal to secure the roof is $7,000.

This will give the kids a brand-new roof, and we can replace any bedding and rooms that were flooded.
