"Urgent Update: Help Us Secure a Safe Home for Our Kids in Uganda"
Peace Makers, Build A Better Us, Orphanage
Hello Peace Makers,
Hi, my name is BJ Thompson, the director and president of BBU.
It's been a while.
For those who don’t remember, we at BBU fund and help operate an orphanage in Jinja, Uganda.
Fun Fact: Jinja is often referred to as the “Source of the Nile.” Jinja holds a unique place as the birthplace of the mighty Nile River.
Here's a photo of our orphanage below:

Here’s a photo of our 28 kids
To build more community around the work we are doing in Uganda, I wanted to share more celebrations, developments, and stories of the great 28 kids we serve.
We have 4 areas of focus for developing the orphanage:
Operations (food, clothing, shelter)
Education (primary & secondary education + high-value trades)
Renovations
Inspirations
Without further ado, let's get into this week’s celebrations, current projects, and campaign goals:
Celebrations:
We purchased land and a building. The kids now have a long-term home! They have permanent residency in our orphanage/village!
Current Projects:
Uganda is currently in one of its most rainy seasons (September-December). With that comes urgent renovations to the roof.
The building roof has a massive hole, and when it rains, water floods into the building. The kids’ bedding and rooms are being drenched, and a few have caught malaria due to these unsafe conditions.
Footage here:
As you can imagine, our primary focus is raising enough money to secure the roof ASAP.
Campaign Goal:
Our target goal to secure the roof is $7,000.
This will give the kids a brand-new roof, and we can replace any bedding and rooms that were flooded.

Every dollar helps, and it truly means the world to us to protect these kids!
Our mission is to empower the least of these to become the change-makers of society.
Thank you for being a better you so we can be a better us!
